The Stethosphone

The Stethosphone is an “alternative” miking tool built using a couple of electret mic capsules mounted inside a cheap stethoscope. This instrument is very useful in order to experiment with surface recording from any object and it is good even as new way to record instruments such as guitars, drums and so on.

for a vsti, which can can substitute (replace?) the follow instruments:
    alesis s4, peavey spectrum-synth, kawai k1r?

thx for your help and answer

  • Hi TSt,

    sorry for the late reply.

you can build the stethosphone by yourself using an ordinary stethoscope and a couple of cheap electret mic capsules. You only need to solder an ordinary stereo wire to capsules and fit them into stethoscope rubber pipe.

about your second question, as far as i know these are all digital rom based synths. i’ll suggest you to take a look to native instrumets kontakt or other sample based virtual instruments such as Spectrasonics Omnisphere.

    All the bests,
    Luca
