The Prophecy August BBPs Track of the Month
By Luca Capozzi • Sep 1st, 2008 • Category: NewsLuca Capozzi - The Prophecy
I didn’t really know what to expect from the opening bars of this. I was under the impression that this was going to be a run-of-mill Electonic-Symponic attempt. I realised how very wrong I was at about 0.38 when the beat kicked in – shortly followed by the “pac-man” style bouncy bassline. This is a very catchy piece of music and a think a lot of that has to do with the suspense that Luca manages to build throughout the piece. This would not be out of place in a chase scene inome sort of action thriller movie.
This track is thoroughly danceable – I’m not sure that it fits into the IDM banding that Luca has put it in. This is certainly firmly in the breakbeat camp as far as Im concerned. That is all acedemic anyway - what ever genre “The Prophecy” belongs to its truely awesome - I am hooked!
The track itself starts with a brooding, tense staccato string that builds up a sense of suspense until it is joined by techy perx and squelchy & bouncy bass. 2:15 – that’s where this track steps it up a notch!!! Its like Slash has got hold of you by the balls! EPIC SOLO! When that finally dies down at 3:15(ish) – another change up takes this into an almost Arabic feel where the strings build even more adding to that movie soundtrack feel.
A very well thought out and Epic piece of music.
5/5 (and a salute)
